Owners Joe & Alison Thompson started Vermont Foam Insulation (VFI) in 2006. After years of experience in the world of general contracting, where they were hard-pressed to find dependable insulation products, installed by knowledgeable and efficient crews, they decided to take matters into their own hands. What started as one-truck operation in Chester, Vermont has now expanded to a ten-truck operation across two- locations. While Joe is the General Manager, Alison is the Chief Financial Officer. When not on a job site, or in the office, they can be found trying to keep up with their 9-year-old daughter, Elizabeth, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Will has been with Vermont Foam Insulation since its beginning in 2006. Will has a certificate from BPI as a Building Analyst Professional and his focus is growing the company, primarily through sales. Will finds great satisfaction in servicing our customers with their insulation needs.
Born and raised in Vermont, Will takes pride in having established his career and family here. However, much of his past includes traveling extensively overseas. Outside of the workplace, Will likes to spend time with his family ( wife Sarah, two daughters, Ruby & Ellery, and yellow lab, Bomber), skiing, playing soccer and socializing with friends.

John Birch is a seasoned Building Performance expert with a wide array of experience in all facets of the energy efficiency industry.  John has held certifications from the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst and Envelope Professional since 2008 and was one of the first certified Healthy Homes Evaluators in the country.  John helped start the energy auditing arm of Vermont non-profit and has conducted energy audits on over 1,000 Vermont homes.  He has presented at National and Regional conferences on Energy Audit Best Practices and Thermal Boundary Design.  John began working for Vermont Foam in 2010 and has also worked for the nation’s leading energy efficiency consulting company as well as a company specializing in energy auditing and modeling software.  

John lives in Peru, Vermont with his wife and family and loves exploring this beautiful state and helping Vermonters be more efficient and more comfortable in their homes.

Ivanna Reed joined VFI in 2015 and serves a variety of roles including Client Services, Scheduling and Estimating. Prior to joining VFI, Ivanna worked in international development and NGO management. When not at work, Ivanna enjoys cross-country and downhill skiing, swimming, spending time with four granddaughters, cooking,  and reading.

Wayne Poirier joined the VFI team in 2013 as a technician. Aside from working for his father’s printing press as a young adult, Wayne has been involved in the insulation industry for 30 years! Since Wayne’s early days with VFI, he has moved into the critical role of Operations Manager. Through careful planning and coordination of services, Wayne makes sure that VFI jobs are completed in a timely manner and that customers are satisfied. In his off time, Wayne enjoys fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Sarah Reed is the newest member of VFI. Sarah joined the team in June of 2018, as the Director of Development. Prior to VFI, Sarah worked as a school administrator and comes to the team with years of experience in system development and staff development and relations. When not working at VFI, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and anything that brings her active family outside.

Christopher Riendau has worked as a mechanic for 16-years and has been with VFI since 2017. Prior to joining the VFI Advanced Drainage Systems. On his time off, he loves to go hunting, fishing, hiking and mud bogging. Chris also likes to work on classic cars and spend time with his family.

Brian Temple joined VFI in 2015 as a technician and has 25 years of experience in the industry. Outside of work, Brian likes to fish, hike, play horseshoes and spend time on the water.

Tyler Rowe joined VFI in 2014 as a technician. Prior to joining the VFI team, Tyler worked at Jeld-Wen Window Manufacturing. Outside of work, Tyler likes to go hunt, fish and spend time with his three kids.

Hired in the Spring 2022, Jason likes hunting, fishing, and spending time with his two daughters.

Matt Andrasi has been with VFI since 2015 as a technician. Matt came to VFI with years of experience in the industry. When not working, Matt is a family man. He likes watching movies and playing horseshoes.

Kris joined VFI in 2021. Kris likes working on cars, videogames, snowboarding, camping and the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Jacob joined VFI in spring 2022. He likes being outside, camping, fishing, boating, working on cars and bikes, animals, and spending time with friends and family.
